Whether you are collecting stamps for moneymaking purposes or you just find it a good form of recreation, this article gives you insight on what to look for. Go through the following details and learn which postage mark has more value. Who knows, you may just decide to sell your collection after all.

Mauritius “Post Office”
Produced in 1847, when the island nation was still under British rule, there is an error with the printing. Rather than “post paid” (which should have been the original mark), you will notice “post office”. The aspect that makes it valuable these days is the fact that there are only at least thirty stamps left, wherein one has been sold in 1993 for an estimated 1 million US dollars.

Tre-Skilling Yellow
This Swedish stamp dates back in 1855 and ranks as the most expensive worldwide. Like the latter, it has a printing mistake, wherein it should have been green for three skilling instead of the yellow for eight skilling. The postage label is very rare that it ushered in around 2.5 million Swiss francs during 1996.

British Guiana
Printed in 1856, the one-cent red and black stamp used to be the most valuable. However, the tre skilling yellow and Mauritius “post office” put it into third place. Although of poor paper quality and rushed haphazard printing, it generated 900,000 US dollars in 1980.

Now, these are only three of the world’s most pricey postage marks. Other than these, you can look for Hawaii missionary, “the red lady in the green dress”, Benjamin Franklin Z-Grill, 1867, and Double Geneva.
